For Polish-born actress Ewa Sobiczewska, the journey to Los Angeles has been about more than geography. Back in Poland, Sobiczewska appeared in Alastor as Marika, a daughter forced to grapple with a sudden shift in her family’s dynamics after an unexpected event disrupts their seemingly peaceful life. The role provided Sobiczewska with another opportunity to explore the complexities of family relationships and emotional upheaval, while adding to a body of work that now spans both European and American productions.
Yet what may distinguish Sobiczewska most is the perspective she brings to her work. Moving between Poland and the United States has exposed her to different cultures, approaches to storytelling, and ideas about performance. Rather than leaving one artistic identity behind for another, she sees that international background as something she can bring into her characters.
